I wouldn't want to meet friends, families and kids in the first week, but it would have to be an option, in time, if it is to be something serious. My best first date includes comfortable, friendly conversation in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Communication is key. In getting to know a new person, I'm most at ease with someone who is engaging, talkative, and comfortable with themselves, who likes also to ask questions and is a good listener.

I guess I'm a "treehugger" why did they make me do that? Avid recycler would be better...I'd like to say that I am ridiculously optimistic and (almost always) wake up happy. I enjoy life, I eat healthy food and hope to go back to school to get my Master's degree in the next few years. I teach elementary school, which is demanding but fun. I used to travel but for now my focus is on work and home...I get to play more in the summer... I am very liberal-politically and spiritually, don't watch a lot of TV and get my news from NPR. I would love to find a man who helps motivate me to balance work and play, gets my wicked sense of humor and is emotionally/financially stable (at least relatively). Good chemistry is a must. I'm old enough to know what I like and still very much interested in adventures. I have an 8 year old son and a son who is ***grown and gone). They are the icing on the cake so it's important that the man I meet has a decent sense of family. I have high hopes but what the hell? Might as well put it out there... A good first date would be out for tea/coffee, dinner or a drink. I like movies,but not for a date. I would prefer to meet someone in a peaceful but public place.
