I guess I'm a "treehugger" why did they make me do that? Avid recycler would be better...I'd like to say that I am ridiculously optimistic and (almost always) wake up happy. I enjoy life, I eat healthy food and hope to go back to school to get my Master's degree in the next few years. I teach elementary school, which is demanding but fun. I used to travel but for now my focus is on work and home...I get to play more in the summer... I am very liberal-politically and spiritually, don't watch a lot of TV and get my news from NPR. I would love to find a man who helps motivate me to balance work and play, gets my wicked sense of humor and is emotionally/financially stable (at least relatively). Good chemistry is a must. I'm old enough to know what I like and still very much interested in adventures. I have an 8 year old son and a son who is ***grown and gone). They are the icing on the cake so it's important that the man I meet has a decent sense of family. I have high hopes but what the hell? Might as well put it out there... A good first date would be out for tea/coffee, dinner or a drink. I like movies,but not for a date. I would prefer to meet someone in a peaceful but public place.

My mother raised her daughters to be strong, independant, and capable of taking care of themselves...I can do all that. However, she also taught us to love and respect others. I can do that too. I am looking for someone who can be a leader without being a dictator, someone who isn't afraid to be sensitive, who won't be scared to tell me when I'm wrong and help me learn from my mistakes, one who will stand beside me and be proud of who we are together, as well as individually. He must love God first, then me and family next. It doesn't matter if he has kids. I want kids, even if they didn't spring from my own womb. Its alright if he doesn't appreciate my passion for horses, just so he understands that they are part of my life, and I will learn to appreciate his passions. A first date....Gosh, I'd prefer to go have coffee somewhere. Talk, let the spark *** it will. I'm not much for going to bars, or clubs. In fact, I am not a good dancer at all, so I doubt you'd get a good feel of who I am in a situation like that...but maybe a walk in the park, or something. Someplace where I can have your undivided attention for awhile. I am a chatterbox when I get started, but I can sit and listen just as easily. Perhaps, a trailride around the lake would be a good idea.
