I don't think there has to be a perfect formula for a 1st date. I think what has to be there is good conversation and mutual interest or just a spark (whatever you want to call it). I am down for sitting and having dinner and talking and not worrying about the clock, or sitting and listening to live music and having a drink and getting to know each other, or walking along a trail and watching the sun go down and getting to know each other. As long as there is mutual respect for each other and good conversation, the setting does not matter.
