I love music and laughing and kindness. I like being around expressive, caring, and fun loving people. Throw in some interesting food and maybe a glass of wine, and I'm feeling pretty open and happy.I like the idea that we are all historians, and that our stories are nuanced with lore, myth, truth and drama. I want to hear your story. I'll like it if you want to hear mine.I'm independent, and support myself; I live within my means; at 35 I divorced, and with three school aged kids at home, put myself through college and earned a bachelor's then a master's degree. I still use my fingers to count.I want to be a wife again some day. Music: (My one true salvation.) I'm currently on a Mark Knopfler jag. (It's lasted about 14 years.;Belief." I want to crawl up inside it and stay awhile. It's everything I want in a song.; I'm recently into roasting vegetables of all kinds; but sometimes I just need a bit of rare steak and a glass of wine; I'm told I'm evil when I get too hungry. I love everything there is to love about fresh limes. I have an expensive watermelon habit, and I eat a lot of Tzatziki these days. I make a chocolate cake that, once people have eaten it, they wake up screaming for in the night. I use it to get my way sometimes. Hobbies: I love to take pictures of people, mostly people that I love. I also love to make videos for my family and friends. I've gotten my hands on old home movies and videos and made some neato photo/video tributes. Makes me happy. I also like to walk with music blaring in my earphones. Thrift store shopping is fun; my little sister is the queen of the thrift shop find; we've had the best time tearing about L.A. from one Goodwill to another, and have found really great stuff. I also love decorating my house, feathering the nest; comfort and beauty in my world matter.My children and grandchild are the lights of my life. My granddaughter is five years old; she is bright, funny, wise and beautiful. I completely love being her Yia yia.I love good communication, and value quality over quantity. Talking that's mindful, interested, and involves exploring ideas really does it for me. Talking isn't the end all and be all of good communication---silence is important, too. I'm most drawn to people who understand their history and want to tell their story. I most enjoy the company of people who aren't afraid to lean into the full range of their emotional experiences, and know how to own who they are. A shared sense of community creates endless possibilities for doing things for and with each other. I have the best time with people who share an interest in what's happening around the community and the world, and get involved.I'm sensitive to unbalanced power in relationships. "Shoulder to shoulder" resonates immediately. When equality is present, then the good stuff of friendship, attraction, intimacy and connection is there, too. Without it, all that pesky "drama" and "game playing" goes on, and even you "easy going, laid back"True story: I'm considering photoshop deception to contrive some dazzling photos of me water skiing, zip-lining, biking, hiking, and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro... A word to the wise: not all chicks like "chick flix." Also, I'll ask you to kindly send me a message with a few lines if you are interested. I don't really check the "interested" or "so and so wants to meet you," list. Eating together is always a good start. Live music maybe? Something outside. I like to see how people interact with the world around them. A festival or other community event could be a great way to get to know each other, and share some laughs. I'm noticing that some people want a less date-like meet up to see if there's chemistry. I'm totally okay with that, too. We like what we like, right?

I’m into biking, walking, a bit of running, snorkeling, sailing and fishing- it’s all great fun. My yoga practice is big for me, it keeps me centered and out of trouble, for the most part;)I'm looking for a confident, happy man- someone who challenges and encourages me.
