About Me

Hey!I truly enjoy the simple things in life...- kayaking at dawn & biking at dusk- a lazy Sunday watching the Packers- skipping stones on a calm lake- chasing fireflies on a cool summer night- enjoying the stillness of crisp, cold day while snowshoeing- strolling around the Farmer's Market- playing cards with family and friends- relaxing on a patio/deck after a long day at work with good company or a great book- a laid-back night watching a movie- attending any sporting event and hitting up some concerts (I'm the person you pull up next to at a stoplight who's belting out some tunes :)- playing any sport (I play in softball and volleyball leagues during the summer, and golf as well.)On a more serious note, I am always looking for opportunities to grow and challenge myself, and I always hope to be able to consider myself a life-long learner. I try to see the best in everyone.I looking for someone....- with a sense of humor that I can have a great laugh with - there's really nothing better than a great laugh in good company- who I can have an engaging conversation with about anything - the latest trade in football, the craziness of the world, or even politics...haha- who values family and friends- who is fairly active that I can play with :)- who is respectful of other people and appreciates the differences among all of usAs with all my relationships, I value communication, honesty, trust, and respect. If you enjoy doing any of the same activities and have a great sense of humor, enjoy engaging conversation, and are fairly active, I would love to hear from you. :)

Hmm... well let's just attack these suggestions in list format for the time being.1. My hobbies are varied and wild depending on your point of view. I play hockey. I garden. I'm somewhat of a dork for photography and other artistic endeavors, as well as arrowheads and artifacts, which I spend a great deal of time looking for after a heavy rain. I love my jeep and driving it out on Nauset Beach is more of a religion than a hobby if I'm being completely honest. I like to be outside as much as possible... in the woods, on the beach, in the ocean, on a frozen pond, on a mountain. I'm in to seasons, sounds silly but I get psyched for each upcoming season to the same degree that most children anticipate Christmas. It's almost like I forget how much I love them until they start to roll back around. 2. Goals and aspirations, eh? I'm going to assume they don't mean the types of foods I've choked on. This last year was a big one for goals accomplished so it's probably time to start setting some new targets. I've been focusing a lot on being a healthier person. ***goal that is not yet reached is to run a 5k. I'm not sure If it's going to happen in this calendar year, but I'm not giving up on it either way. Also, I'd like to move back out of the realm of casual dating and find a solid dude to refer to as my boyfriend, but obviously I only control half of the equation on that goal.3. Hmmm. From where do I derive my uniqueness? I'm equal parts girly-girl and tough chick that can hang. I have no problem taking off my hockey skates and putting on a pair of heels. I might have a manicure, but it's only a matter of time before I mess it up doing something awesome (one time I ruined my nails chasing the cape cod bear, most recently I ruined them taking over the raw bar at a wedding). I really like to go on adventures. Hopefully it doesn't sounds cliché... because I think a lot of people on dating sites are toting that desire, which (when I read it, at least) seems like an awkward lie as we all sit at our computers looking for companionship... but I digress. I'm good with words, sometimes, and a great teacher almost always. I'm passionate. I care deeply about my people, about my dog, about my town. I love to learn. If you tell me about something that I know very little about I will need to find out what I can, and I will probably research the hell out of it if I'm interested. I should be great at trivia nights for this reason but I'm not, sorry if that's a disappointment. I've got a lot of great stories. It'd be nice to share them with someone new... maybe even create some fresh ones.4. Strange to me that taste in music gets equal billing here, but I'll go with it. Improvisational arena rock, roots rock reggae, old (good) rap, bluesy stuff, songs from the late fifties, things with soul, some classic rock thrown in here or there, ridiculous 80's and 90's that was the soundtrack of my childhood, and new (crappy pop) rap. Basically almost anything. Ideal first dates are brief but extendable. It can be awkward, no getting around that. Generally I think it's best to meet for a drink. There's no reason that can't turn in to two drinks, or a drink and then apps, or something else. The thought of sitting down for a two hour dinner with someone who I may or may not like and who may or may not like me sounds torturous. Hiking around in the woods or something similar would be awesome if it wasn't also a great way to get murdered by some dude you just picked up on the internet. Maybe a better third date. :)
