I have used this time to focus on my son, to grow as a woman and a mother, and to just...be. Until recently, and even still at times, I have felt that being a single parent and dating were very difficult to co-mingle, so for the most part, I chose to focus on being a mother as it was what I felt was right, and quite honestly, it was easier. That being said, I feel that now that my son is getting older, it is a little easier for me to allow myself to date without guilt. I am not looking for anything casual. Dating with children is just not the same as dating pre-children (at least not for me). I am a 44-year-old woman and mom looking for a real connection with someone who gets that at this stage of life, with children, it really is a package deal. I hope to find someone who gets me, who gets single-parenthood, who gets that in order for there to be an us, there has to be a mutual respect for our children and our respective situations.
