I have mine up - it's only fair. ;-) Bonus points if your profile does not solely consist of bathroom mirror "self-portraits". ;-)With that said...You’ll find that I am equally at home at a nice restaurant or dinner party as I am on my horse. When you get a last minute invitation to dinner with friends or clients, you appreciate that you can find me ready to go in heels and that little black dress you like so much in less than an hour, and value that I can hold my own in just about any conversation that the company and candlelight might bring.; Islay Scotch earns brownie points all around. Everyone knows you as a man of character and integrity by the way you put it into practice in everything you do, and I never need to remind you how much I admire that when I'd rather just let my fingers do the talking...You respect the fact that my girls can jump just about anything out there on their trusty steeds, and manage to not give me too much grief when you accompany us on occasional Pony Club outings. ;-) I jokingly remind you that it's payment in kind for having translated our way through Spain during our last vacation.... You're just thankful that I like my Prime Rib medium-rare, regardless of how much horseradish I might ask for on the side. You love me in spite of the fact that I'm not a morning person, and cherish the look of blissful gratitude that I get when you surprise me with French Press coffee or the occasional Caramel latte. Beneath my pragmatic demeanor lies a quick wit and formidable silly side that you find oddly endearing, despite the times you find me laughing hysterically at my own jokes.And you still adore me in spite of the fact that I have the world’s worst sense of direction. You’re secretly grateful for the "ribbons on the right" at the endurance rides I attend that ensure that my horse and I won't inadvertently end up in a nearby state. You begin to think that a GPS with an altimeter feature might make the perfect Christmas gift after all…With that said... I'll admit that the person I'm looking for is a tall order to fill. Maybe the idea of dating a widow is more of a challenge, as typically the relationship ended without our say or consent, and involved quite a fight to hold onto it to begin with. Understandable. With that said, the reflections of past experiences merely serve as a light that illuminates the path ahead. A man who understands this and marches forward anyway has a strong sense of self, as well as a strong sense of perspective. He understands that he is picking up the baton that is being handed to him from beyond in good team-player style, and will be respectful of our need to keep the memories of a deceased dad alive (in an appropriate manner) for the sake of his children. Please understand that integrity and honesty are values I hold highly and find irrestibly attractive in a man, so please, no lies about your age or anything else on your profile - be who you say you are. Which brings me to that very question... who are you?You are a well-educated professional (i.e., have successfully pursued post-high school education) who is good at what you do. Your work ethic and sense of integrity is admired by friends and peers alike, and brings honor to your family. You are a man of faith (prefer the spiritual fruit variety). The values you hold dear are consciously reflected in both your words and deeds. A positive and content person, you avoid negativity and blame. You are fiscally responsible and are not burdened by excessive credit card debt. Not content to live in a subdivision "box", you cherish the outdoors and appreciate being able to live on acreage. It would never occur to you to send inappropriate or suggestive texts. Preferably, you have been divorced long enough to have healed accordingly and distilled who you are and what you're looking for. Those with tendencies toward depression, negativity or controlling dispositions need not apply....So - who am I?I seem to fit the Myers-;T", with only a couple of minor deviations. I'm pretty creative, have a strong intellect and love learning something new every day.While I might be a widow and have experienced a great personal loss in the past, I am not a victim, nor am I in need of a 'rescue'. ;-) My strong sense of faith and optimism have helped keep me focused and positive throughout life's most difficult trials, and those trials have only served to strengthen my belief that God still has some amazing things in store for me and my life. :-) What I do miss is having that "partner in crime" to experience life with - that someone special who makes the day-to-day things more fun and meaningful just by virtue of him being there. :-) Just what would it be that would make that "someone special" so special? For me, special means the complete package of heart, integrity, intellect, personality and "spark". Someone who will evolve into a very interesting old person... someone who would enjoy quick-witted, playful banter as we grow old together.When it's not pouring rain, we enjoy horseback riding together as a family, riding bikes, attending the kids' respective horse club events &- I like it so much out there that I hope to be able to buy some property out there someday. Sometimes we bring the horses and enjoy a nice gallop on the beach just as the sun is beginning to set. I have always loved to travel, and can see that being more easily facilitated now that my youngest isn't quite so young anymore. The kids want me to get some 2-So... will it be you paddling with me on Lacamas Lake or Willapa Bay? Or sharing playful glances over a sushi dinner? There's only one way to find out... :-) A great "first date"? Coffee - preferably a local non-Starbucks cafe where our voices won't have to compete with the sound system...Or... perhaps we could get to know each other a little better over plates of Tapas, served with a refreshing Cava. Or, if you're a horseman, you could join me on an endurance ride... ;-) Let's face it - the possibilities are practically endless. These are just initial thoughts that came to mind after not having gone on a "first date" in many, many years - I'd love to get a glimpse of your creative side by hearing your ideas as well. :-)
