I am a very laid back person who has a beautiful daughter. She is, and always will be, the light of my life! I love to look at life as a new adventure, I try to help people find the best in themselves and am easy to talk to. I am getting back into being more socially active now that my daughter is older. :) Things I have noticed about myself:* I have ugly feet and really don't care :) * I enjoy people watching and sometimes *** social situations, talking on elevators, sitting next to someone on a completely empty metro train, asking people if they like the items in their shopping cart while waiting in line.*I have the worlds WORST luck....I have tried to change this with no success.....at least it makes life interesting.*I cannot complete simple life tasks without something unusual happening, I always expect, and encourage, the unexpected. **I am competing in my first Warrior Dash soon and may be dead as a result.*I don't easily embarass, but have been known to try and embarass others. *I would rather be back country hiking in Yellowstone than attend any function where I have to dress up.....unless I can attend that function in my back country hiking clothes :) *I truly like to help people in need*I watch Dog the Bounty Hunter....*I refuse to buy a new car *My cell phone is just that, a cell phone.....may have a camera on it, but would have to check ;)*I am not as big of a pizza fan as I should be.*I love broccoli*I burn easily, but am convinced that it will peel off into a tan......hasnt worked so far but I am hopeful*I am a good driver*I have a torn acl and am putting off surgery......UPDATE- recently sucked it up and had the surgery.....now in recovery.....ugh! *The only hair product that goes in my hair is shampoo. Cant see the sense in paying for hair supplies when I barely brush my hair :) *I have strong opinions and love to play devil's advocate. After much giggling and guffawing w/a male friend who is also on this site, I've rewritten this profile a gazillion times to be less descriptive and less informative than I'd like. According to him, more words than a sports blurb is too much reading effort. While I put up a good fight, I deferred to him b/c he's a man and clearly has the inside scoop. I'm a great girl - that's really all I want to convey. I'm silly, smart, sassy, wise, kind, intelligent, spirited, goofy, funny, responsible, practical, thrifty, adventurous, gentle, fierce, affectionate, loving, quirky and respectful. I can also be a right pain in the ass - stubborn, willful, anxious and restless. Nowhere near perfect...I know myself pretty well and I work to be a better me every day. Having said that, I like who I am right now just fine. I've never married b/c I spent my 20s on my education and my 30s on my career - I'm sometimes surprised that I'm 42 years old already. I don't have a shady past, I don't have a criminal record, I've never done drugs or suffered any psychiatric or behavioral disorders. I've been in a few long- term relationships that didn't work out for various reasons. I'm okay with that and am not lugging around a bunch of baggage. I grew up overseas and would travel the world if I could. Most of my friendships are lifelong and span the spectrum of personalities. I am fortunate to have surrounded myself with fun-loving, adventurous and supportive people.My political views lean to the liberal side. I support prochoice, gay marriage, separation of church and state, gun control, privacy of citizens and responsibly managed social service programs. If you are a like-minded stable guy who enjoys his life, takes care of his responsibilities, loves to travel and has a silly streak, we might hit it off. I'm looking to meet a man who makes me laugh, someone witty, someone kind, someone smart, someone willing engage in genuine conversation and share experiences. If you are the obnoxious life of the party, the player, the fitness or sports fanatic, the dude living on the fringe of society or the self-important rich kid, I'm probably not the girl for you. If I need a teenager to translate your message, I'm definitely not the girl for you (ex: ";). I will never meet you right away. If you don't have the patience to communicate with me in a way that I feel comfortable, please don't bother. I also respectfully request that you NOT send pictures of yourself flexing your muscles, bare chested in the bathroom mirror. Yuck.PS) A friend just informed me that "I want to date but nothing serious" is synonymous with "seeking a player" so let me clarify my interpretation. I chose the "not serious" category b/c the "looking to get married immediately and have lots of babies" is too much for me. Dating someone could lead to a commitment, which is why I didn't choose the "casual/no commitment" option. So, when I say "I want to date but nothing serious" it doesn't mean I want a player or that I am a player. It means there's a potential for commitment if you're the right one for me but it takes time to date to know that. A casual drink or dinner where we can talk is just fine.
