UPDATE: I'm not here to have my time wasted by casual messagers who have a short attention span and never reply again after the first half dozen lazy sentences. If you're only going to respond once to be "polite" DON'T BOTHER! If you have no intention of putting in a decent effort to get a bit of banter and conversation going with the intention of MEETING IN PERSON, then don't even bother me in the first place. If you want to mess around like that, go on ***, so one last try at this minefield of online dating where negotiating fake profiles, ladies who say 'lol' too much and dodgy adverts for mail order brides seems to be the order of the day.My sense of humour is a little dry, wry and sardonic. I'm quick witted on Social Media at least....I'm afraid I'm not "Tall*, Dark and Handsome", ";, "Mr D'Arcy", "; or some similar rose-tinted cliché - and if you've used one of these worn-out phrases in your profile, you might want to consider an update. No, I'm just a normal bloke who a few short years back thought he had it all mapped out, but alas....I've looked after myself. I cycle and have no beer belly and weigh about 10.5 stone. If you haven't looked after yourself I'm probably not going to be interested. I'm quite a reader and thinker, but I don't take myself too seriously. I cook and like to grow my own tomatoes (with varying degrees of success). If you're articulate and independent minded with a bit of sass (in terms of personality not loudness), but are also affectionate, warm, kind and sincere, then I might well be your man...*I'm astonished at how many women on here specify minimum height of 6' plus "because I like to wear heels when I go out". Have you any idea how shallow that sounds? Perhaps you should make it clear on your profile that it's really a fashion accessory and not a partner you're after? At the very least, be a lady and do that kind of filtering in private or I might start listing minimum cup size just to see if I can reciprocate the lack of tact. I'll fill this in later...

Hi im Jack, I'm looking for someone who is easygoing, chilled and a good laugh, just like me. I have a gentle & caring nature & am looking for those qualities in another. I'm not into mind games or being messed around. I hope i dont seem too serious because im not i find the happy in everything but the following poem best describes how i try to lead my life, not really into poetry but i am into anything with a message. When i heard this it inspired me & still does - i hope it does the same to you. 'Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ***, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.Take kindly to the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.'Max Ehrmann c.***Take care & remember....... 'Strive to be happy' JK Coffee and a chat, or something a bit different maybe a trip to the zoo or a tourist spot like living coasts.

Hi!I love eating out and trying new food places, and cooking has become an increasingly interesting hobby of mine (haven't poisoned myself yet so must be working!) chocolate cheesecakes, French roast chicken in garlic and white wine etc. I also love hiking and cycling, visits to the Peak District to escape the rat-race keep fit and to take in the views. Also in my past was a bit of kung fu and weight training, I was keyboardist in some minor bands, and Lego master ;)Movies : Something with a twist, drama, horror, comedies, anything really. Sometimes hold a movie evening for friends...we never know what rubbish we will end up watching and believe me we've seen some rubbish!. as you can see its a wide range! I'm quite selective with my music, usually listening to stuff that reminds me of a movie scene, epic/dark or uplifting anthems so i'm difficult to pigeonhole. I also make music myself.I usually have a good book on the go, grow my own veg on occasion and know my way around computers to a good level. I enjoy the odd live comedy show, schmoooooozing at markets, and getting to the coast when I can for spontaneous beach bbqs and lazing in the dunes! Perhaps a quiet drink in a public place. First dates don't need to be exotic and action-packed, after all you are there to learn about the other person, away from distractions. Please, no timewasters.... is that you?
