About Me

Now that my son is nearly grown, I have more time for me! Just "me" is getting kinda dull, so I'd love to make the me, a "WE!" =)So as not to scare away those that like correct grammar, I know that the "we" should have really been an "us"...but not as catchy...sorry ;)!I am a pretty unique gal that does not fit the mold of most women. If it is a girlie girl that you are looking for, then I am not the one for you. I love to sweat and don't mind getting dirty. Don't get me wrong, I do clean up nicely too! I am not one to talk much about pop culture, in fact, I am not really sure who the Kardasians are, or even care to know...Not much of a TV watcher either. I am not materialistic and live pretty simply. If your profile pic is of you standing in front of your expensive car...we are probably not a match. Also...I have noticed many of you guys are into your motorcycles! Honestly, they really scare the heck out of me...being an orthopaedic nurse...so if this is an important part of your lifestyle, I don't think I can share that with you.I am an independent, down to earth, positive, and basically happy person. I am looking for that man out there who will thrill me, challenge me , inspire me, and be my missing piece. I am in a wonderful place in life....it is truly good...and look forward to sharing my happiness and time with that special guy.I live a healthy lifestyle and and am very fit and active. I love anything outdoors! Swimming, hiking ,biking, kayaking, beaches, lakes, mountains...can you introduce me to more?I am an avid runner and love the challenge of races, the longer the better! I adore my running friends, but would love to have a new training partner ;)! There is something very special and intimate about working out alongside a partner.....I want that. I also enjoy Yoga and practice nearly every day. This world of flexibility, strength, grace, and spirituality is my new frontier. I would also love to share this love with a Yogi guy!I like to cook and am getting better and more creative now that my son is past the chicken nugget stage. There is nothing more satisfying than feeding someone and getting their genuine compliments! All healthy stuff...if you like a steady diet of grease, you will become bored with me and my choices.I love music and always try to keep a good song in my head. When the going gets tough, just start singing it! I especially like classic rock, jam bands, reggae, and the blues. Love live shows in smaller venues or at huge outdoor festivals. Bob Marley once said: "a good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain"...ahhhh so true, at least for me :)On the spiritual side, I am a thoughtful, kind person that always seems to take the side of the underdog. I've been told I have a big heart. Born and raised a Catholic. It is my foundation, and has helped to shape who I am today...although I haven't been to church much lately, I am more spiritual than ever. I find that I no longer need rules and structure to help me be my best possible caring and compassionate and peaceful me....I try to live by the Golden Rule. When you think about it, isn't it the basis behind every world religion?I hope to find a like minded, passionate man who also does not fit the mold. Please, please be happy, optimistic, fit, active and soulful. Did I mention fit?? Respect for your mind, body and soul should be a priority. Are you kind? Crunchy, chewy and yummie are an added bonus also! Did I mention fit? Oh yes, I did...sorry to be redundant but this is a must. One that knows the correct use of an apostrophe and "their, there, they're" is a bonus too!Intimacy and affection are also very important to me. You too?Are you out there?     I want a relationship, but I'm going to date for now until I meet someone that I really click with. I'm not a serial dater by any means, but I'm tired of rushing into an exclusive relationship, only to realize 6 months later that we don't want the same things & then I have to start all over again. Why is everyone trying to rush love? It has to happen, you can't force it. I only want to be sure there is really something there if I'm going to be exclusive. What you should know about me, well, I'm pretty easy going with a little OCD mixed in. Shy till I get to know someone (then, just try to shut me up...LOL!)I love dogs & He keeps me sane when life gets crazy. I like cats but fortunately, I'm allergic. I'm a big fan of horror movies & crime shows like Criminal Minds, NCIS, Law & Order & CSI. Historical documentaries, romantic comedies, action adventure. Not big on chick flicks, tho' I do have a couple of fav's. I'm a Giants & Yankees fan (more into football than baseball). I drive a jeep & live in a small condo. I have worked at the same job in the aerospace industry for the past 25yrs & I really love my job. I'm kind of a homebody, but I do like going out to see a band, going dancing. Love visiting small towns with little shops & out of the way restaurants. I like the beach, but more early morning or early evening than when they're packed with people. I get bored just laying in the sun. I'm more of a beach comber than a sun worshiper. But I do love being near the ocean. Nature is amazing! Off the beaten path is much more interesting than the usual places. Gotta experience different thing in life or you just haven't lived. I like all kinds of music from today's pop, to 70's & 80's, raggae, blues, classic rock & even some metal (Disturbed, Godsmack & Metallica). Not a big fan of Jazz, Rap or Classical. Outdoor concerts are a lot of fun.I just recently joined Weight Watchers & have already lost 23 lbs. I'm really enjoying re-aquainting myself with my smaller clothes. It's a life plan & I'm not going back to my old body ever again. I like my healthy body far too much. A work in progress. I've also started exercising, both cardio & light weight training. I love Halloween & dressing in costumes, wigs & crazy makeup. I can be anything or anyone I want to be at Halloween. (I like goth, but Halloween is the only time I can get away with it...LOL!)I don't smoke or do drugs (not even weed) & I don't date anyone who does.(not even weed) I drink occasionally & don't like being around people who drink a lot. It's not my style. I don't need alcohol to have a good time. I'd rather feel good the next morning! I have 3 tattoos, & used to ride a Harley, but had to sell it when the recession started & we lost our overtime. I do miss it, but I'm not rushing to buy a new one. Maybe someday. I wouldn't mind riding on the back tho'. I'm not good with small kids, so if you have kids younger high school age, I probably won't answer you. Sorry, but I know what I'm looking for. Have to be honest. Many men my age have young kids, so I don't want to waste anyone's time. I don't expect a man to drop everything for me & expect the same in return. Everyone needs their own time with family & friends. I also don't live with my phone glued to my ear & I'm not a textaholic, tho' it is a fun way to communicate. It can't take the place of a good old fashion face to face conversation, tho'. I don't keep track of someone I'm dating & I expect the same consideration. We are all adults & if you're the jealous type, I'm not the one for you. Ok, I'm rambling now, if you're interested, drop me a note & we'll see what happens.:) Well, first date isn't first meeting. First meeting should be something simple, coffee or a drink to see if you have anything in common & if there's a spark or compatibility. 1st date should be simple, nothing over the top. No going overboard to impress. Being yourself. A nice dinner in a quiet restaurant where you can talk & get to know each other. That way, you can see if there is something worth building on.
