About Me

Now that my son is nearly grown, I have more time for me! Just "me" is getting kinda dull, so I'd love to make the me, a "WE!" =)So as not to scare away those that like correct grammar, I know that the "we" should have really been an "us"...but not as catchy...sorry ;)!I am a pretty unique gal that does not fit the mold of most women. If it is a girlie girl that you are looking for, then I am not the one for you. I love to sweat and don't mind getting dirty. Don't get me wrong, I do clean up nicely too! I am not one to talk much about pop culture, in fact, I am not really sure who the Kardasians are, or even care to know...Not much of a TV watcher either. I am not materialistic and live pretty simply. If your profile pic is of you standing in front of your expensive car...we are probably not a match. Also...I have noticed many of you guys are into your motorcycles! Honestly, they really scare the heck out of me...being an orthopaedic nurse...so if this is an important part of your lifestyle, I don't think I can share that with you.I am an independent, down to earth, positive, and basically happy person. I am looking for that man out there who will thrill me, challenge me , inspire me, and be my missing piece. I am in a wonderful place in life....it is truly good...and look forward to sharing my happiness and time with that special guy.I live a healthy lifestyle and and am very fit and active. I love anything outdoors! Swimming, hiking ,biking, kayaking, beaches, lakes, mountains...can you introduce me to more?I am an avid runner and love the challenge of races, the longer the better! I adore my running friends, but would love to have a new training partner ;)! There is something very special and intimate about working out alongside a partner.....I want that. I also enjoy Yoga and practice nearly every day. This world of flexibility, strength, grace, and spirituality is my new frontier. I would also love to share this love with a Yogi guy!I like to cook and am getting better and more creative now that my son is past the chicken nugget stage. There is nothing more satisfying than feeding someone and getting their genuine compliments! All healthy stuff...if you like a steady diet of grease, you will become bored with me and my choices.I love music and always try to keep a good song in my head. When the going gets tough, just start singing it! I especially like classic rock, jam bands, reggae, and the blues. Love live shows in smaller venues or at huge outdoor festivals. Bob Marley once said: "a good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain"...ahhhh so true, at least for me :)On the spiritual side, I am a thoughtful, kind person that always seems to take the side of the underdog. I've been told I have a big heart. Born and raised a Catholic. It is my foundation, and has helped to shape who I am today...although I haven't been to church much lately, I am more spiritual than ever. I find that I no longer need rules and structure to help me be my best possible caring and compassionate and peaceful me....I try to live by the Golden Rule. When you think about it, isn't it the basis behind every world religion?I hope to find a like minded, passionate man who also does not fit the mold. Please, please be happy, optimistic, fit, active and soulful. Did I mention fit?? Respect for your mind, body and soul should be a priority. Are you kind? Crunchy, chewy and yummie are an added bonus also! Did I mention fit? Oh yes, I did...sorry to be redundant but this is a must. One that knows the correct use of an apostrophe and "their, there, they're" is a bonus too!Intimacy and affection are also very important to me. You too?Are you out there?     i hate this part lol I'm just your average girl next door who likes to laugh and have fun, i have my child living with me and she is my life, i would do anything for her and she will always come first. Love to do anything outdoors like camping, swimming, boating, jet skiing and especially love to ride on the back of a motorcycle and feel the wind in my hair :))UPDATE: I don't want to be rude or come across like a B****, but i think i need to set something strait here that a lot of guys seem to have a problem with.First, YES i have a child and she is living with me. NO I'm not looking for a daddy for her, she has one!!! That means i can't get away on a moments notice but i do make time to do things and have fun. If you ever had children then you know what I'm talking about, if you don't like children then you need to move on. I will not abandon her for anybody !!!Second, YES I'm going to school, NO i don't need anybody to pay for it or take care of me and my daughter. I'm doing just fine where i am, i managed that for a while now and I'm going forward from here. I'm comfortable with the way things are and they can only get better. I'm very independent and always have been and if you can't handle it then you need to move on.I'm not on here to play head games, BS or one night stands. If you think I'm to far away from you then don't even contact me, what is the use in it if we can't meet or meet once and then you decide it's to far for you. I'm on here to see what is out there and if there are any honest guys left who actually want a serious relationship and are tired of the games too. I don't need a man in my life but it would be nice to share it with somebody.WOW, reading over what i just wrote i DO come across like a B**** lol I'm not a bad person and if you the right guy i will give you my heart and soul but I'm just tiered of all the games guys play and i guess i had to vent.     I like to laugh and be around fun positive people. Life is short so make good choices. I like to work and believe I have a strong work ethic. But, also know how to relax and have fun. Bucket list is to watch a game from the Green Monster and some day to have a few of my ashes spread there. I know but I`.. oh and on that note love Football. So yes I love the Patriots too. Sports on all the time.I consider myself a beach bum. I can walk on the beach or just sit and read a book. It is so relaxing listening to the waves or better my music on the ipod. Back in the day I surfed a bit but that is a distant memory... When I first came back stateside I tried to dive on Cape Cod and visibility was less than ideal so got frustrated and stopped and then children and... I love the outdoors and enjoy hikes and the challenges that come. Not a fan of snakes but can take care of myself if need be. I like the hot weather so will not complain about it like most people. Camping is fun too. I like the RV personally but can rough it in a tent providing I have an air mattress. I can not start fires I admit but love to sit by them. I can fish but can not bait a hook. I can not explain why a worm grosses me out but it is true. I was a master griller in training until I got a Big Green Egg. This is by far the best grill I have ever had and surpasses my Jenn Air gas grill with rotisserie to the point sadly it just sits by my pool. This Green Egg is a ceramic grill so temps can reach up to ***degrees. I can smoke at low temps or make a steakhouse style steak at ***degrees. I have even made pizza on this grill. Grilling is a life style and it is fun to be creative. I can cook too but prefer to sit back and grill.To describe myself I would say I`m athletic kind average height about 5'4" and about ***pounds. Irish catholic light skinned. I like to walk and exercise and am in pretty good shape. I am not Barbie!I consider myself a strong role model for my children. Many years ago I had an injury to an arm and gave up my career as a nurse and moved across the country hoping the warm weather would help. I did not know a sole here but believed the warm weather wound lessen the pain. I'm not going to lie, it was terrifying but I prevailed. Life throws you curves it's what you do when the chips are down that determine your character. I persevere ! We could enjoy some Tapas and Wine or Coffee and Bagel.
