About Me

I try to learn new things as much as I can. New hobbies, skills, etc. Lately I've been taking a lot of Groupon classes - pottery, painting. Next on the list is scuba diving and flying lessons. Also trying to learn how to play the guitar...though it's not going too well yet since I don't put enough time into it. I do play the piano, although badly at this point since I haven't done so in over a decade. I had classes growing up and played in the school band, if you can call it that.I like to travel. Try to take at least one major trip a year, generally around Thanksgiving time since that adds up to least amount of days off from work and the most time off overall. Last few years I have been doing Caribbean cruises. I like the idea of a moving hotel where you're in a new place every day. I also try to get away somewhere for most 3-day weekends, or at least parts of them.BOOKS: I like fantasy, science fiction and thrillers. My all-MOVIES: pretty much anything not overly stupid or gory. I like action, comedy, drama, and some chick flicks. All time favorite movie keeps changing, I think I'm more into the action phase now.SHOWS: I don't watch much TV. Mostly crime scene-type dramas and sci-fi, with a bit of comedy. I don't like or watch reality TV. It's mostly offensive and too fake.MUSIC: a wide range of things, but usually nothing too heavy and no rap. Most of the time I listen to indie bands, country, and occasionally top 40. I prefer the 80s and 90s music to most recent stuff. I like In Flight Safety, Pendulum, Sugarland, Zac Brown Band, Journey, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, and many others.FOOD: Sushi and Thai being favorites, I like almost anything....except onions. I have a strange relationship with onions. I'm not allergic, but I dislike the texture of cooked onions. I can and will eat them raw, but generally pick them out if cooked (or order food without them if it's an option). I love french onion soup, however..go figure. Also not a big fan of olives.VIDEO GAMES:(yes, I play them...occasionally)Mostly Adventure/RPG type, though some sports as well. And an occasional FPS, if it's really good (and I can make it past the tutorial level). Fable, Elder Scrolls, Dark Void, Mass Effect, Uncharted, Heavy Rain (until the whole finger thing...), etc.If I ever get to them, Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite are on the list to try, as are The Last of Us and Remember Me.

    I suppose I can fill this out. I don't feel it's appropriate to discuss only the absolutely wonderful aspects of one's personality so here's a little of both. I'm slightly a workaholic. My job generally comes first and working ***hour night shifts isn't always easy. This being said, if you cannot handle my work schedule or the occasional crazy weeks when I work ***hours, please, don't message me. I tend to be more compassionate and caring than I give myself credit for. I'm very loyal to the people in my life that I care about. Prissy is not in my vocabulary. I'm not one who absolutely refuses to leave the house without makeup, hair styled, etc. Honestly, I rarely wear the stuff. Binge reading is a curse; sometimes I can't get my hands on enough books, other times I can't make it past the 3rd sentence in chapter one. I'm awful about putting a movie on and watching it over and over again. I love to laugh and have a very twisted, almost dark, sense of humor. Exercise is a curse word, but I love eating healthy. This may change since I just bought a bicycle, but I'm not holding my breath on that. Chances are it will sit in my house collecting dust. Hey, I'm a realist! I'm also pretty self sufficient; I can change a flat tire, repair things around the house on my own, build a fire, pay my own bills (no, I don't want a sugar daddy or a financial leech), and have been known to rip apart and repair a lawnmower with a little guidance. I can't stand having to add this. There should be a "don't message me" section. Please, if you have more pictures up of your toys than of yourself, don't. If you have a picture holding a wad of cash, don't. I'm not superficial and honestly don't want a man who isn't down to earth and cares more about what he has than about who he is as a person. If you are incapable of spelling the city you live in correctly, don't. If you have 5 kids by 5 different women, don't. If your parents pay your bills, don't. If you only wish to tell me how I'm going to hell because I'm an atheist, save yourself the embarrassment.
