I figure it's worth a shot to see what's out there. I'm definitely looking for someone outside the norm. I prefer an open minded person that lives life with love and kindness at the core. God is important, so I'd like my significant other to agree with me on that. I love the beach, good music and concerts, sushi, dogs, writing, hiking, and keeping a balance with most things in my life. I try not to over indulge in any one thing because I've always felt that moderation is key. I live life with passion and compassion and care about others very much. I'm not into one night stands or shallow conversation. I believe life is to be lived with love and depth. I've always been considered a good listener who gives stellar advice and as serious as this profile sounds, I'm a goof and love to laugh. Anchorman is definitely my favorite comedy and I can't wait for the second one to come out =) As far as music goes (I'm pretty big on this) I enjoy:311Vampire Weekend Ballyhoo!PanicDavemany other Indie, Rock, Reggae and Christian Bands Conversation is most important - so whatever backdrop works for that =)

Hi! I recently read in an article about online dating that advances that “The golden age of Internet dating has passed, now that the taboo is gone: the pool has been polluted with too many people”. Thoughts? Me: I am a girl (see, we are already off to a good start!!) that is: - A little silly, a little quirky, a little neurotic- Stylish in a minimalist sense. I love stripes and Scandinavian clothing and I am not a fan of fast fashion. - I may be little reserved at first but have an unexpected side and can be am full of surprises.- Generally quiet with unexpected burst of loudness/excitement. - A little absent minded but thoughtful and have a freakish memory for certain things. - I can be serious about certain things (like work for *** I don’t take myself seriously at all.- Social with my friends but I like quiet time too. - An Urban-dweller rather than a suburban one but I enjoy trips out of town. - I like occasional fancy affairs but am happy to keep it casual the rest of the time. - I don’t own a television or a car.- Je suis Francophone mais une bonne partie de ma vie se passe en anglais (amis, travail, etc.) donc je suis plutôt bilingue.- Otherwise generally full of contradictions. Little things that I get excited about and make me happy: - spending time in my favourite cafés - biking around the city/bixi - brunch - fresh flowers - kicking leaves around in the fall - going to farmers market and doing the homemade thing - hairloom tomatoes - ice cream - a Sunday where I have time to read the NYT or the New Yorker - shopping for vintage mid-century furniture as of late - going to concerts. If you are wondering: I like trips and I have travelled quite a bit. I studied/worked abroad at various times in the past 10 years. I like to try new places but I tend to return to favorite spots. Why I am here – My job can be demanding at times but I do make time for the person that I am with. You – I am hoping to find someone to share exciting times and mundane life moments with, go away for the weekend or go on a big trip with or cook dinner at home and enjoy a quiet night and good conversation. I am not in a rush to get into anything, but I am open to the right relationship with the right person. I suspect that a good match for me would be someone that is educated, a little nerdy but still cool, open-minded, somewhat career oriented but does not take themselves too seriously, calm and funny (I lean towards the deadpan/sarcastic/witty/non-obvious style rather than the slapstick style) and knows what the want. I don’t care about your muscles, how much money you make or your car. Nota bene : I am sure there are a lot of interesting people on here, but I am ultimately not interested in finding a pen pal. It is hard not to lose interest after exchanging a few messages when you have not met someone. So if there is potential for us to hit it off, we should meet up for coffee, a drink or a walk to test the waters. Also, I have recently read scary stats about onIine dating and that 50% of people lie in their profile. (Yikes!) I am quite honest person and value the same - I will assume that your profile is truthful but if it’s not let’s not waste either of our time! We should be able to figure out pretty quickly if we are interested in each other so anything that will allow that would do. A fun activity or dinner would be great for a second encounter.

I am pretty easy going. Low maitenance. I am not that great at talking about myself. I like to snowboard and hang out with friends. I love to laugh. Sarcasm and joking around is my usual personality. I can be serious when I have to be. I am a plain Jane kind of girl. Jeans and a t-shirt is my style. I can enjoy getting dressed up just as much sometimes too. I think of myself as a happy mix between a girly girl and one of the guys. First dates are always kind of nerve wracking. I would hope the lucky guy taking me out would have a lovely night planned.
