I don't quite know what to write here considering only part of me wants a relationship and the other part is thinking that it's too much work. Consider me gun shy I guess.I'm a very busy single mom of a 9 year old boy who is very involved in hockey so I spend most of my free time in arenas. I haven't dated in almost 3 years and to tell you the truth, I'm not even sure I want to now. I know I would like to find someone to spend time with but I'm also not sure I have the time to spend. If this is a challenge that you wouldn't mind taking on then feel free to give it a shot.I tend to lean more towards the blue collar, sports enthusiast (even though I am not one) but this could possibly change if you're the right guy.PS, if your profile pictures are of you without a shirt on standing in front of a mirror then chances are that you are not the guy for me.

I recognize that I alone hold the key to my own happiness. But life is sweeter when you have someone to share your adventures with.A little about me:If I could, I would stay in school indefinately because I love learning. I have three degrees (two in environmental studies and one teaching degree) I love to be active. I like the element of play in my physical pursuits. Some of my activities that I love most dearly are, rock climbing, skiing, scuba diving, cycling, dancing(ballroom and Latin), and camping. Of course its not practical to pursue all of these activities all the time, so I spend quite a bit of time at the gym near my house as well to maintain a base level of fitness. I struggle to take interest in television, but I really appreciate a great movie. I love to travel. I travel to Europe(I have family there) and the Carribean most frequently, but I would like to travel out of my comfort zone some time in the next few years.I'm vegetarian, but I realize this is a personal choice. I dont want to push my views on anyoneI play classical and acoustic guitar, flute and love to sing, although I haven't been putting as much energy in those pursuits as my heart asks for lately. I have an underused baby grand piano in my living room that would love to have more attention. I classify myself as spiritual but not religious, as I find myself at home both on retreat in a monastary and during Zen Buddhist meditation practice. I literally do both. I believe there are as many valid spiritual paths as there are people.I'm comfortable dressed up for a night of dancing in heels, but I equally feel comfortable dressed down for a day of hiking. The last two books I have read were "The Wise Heart" by Jack Kornfield, and Eckart Tolle's "The Power of Now", however I appreciate great fiction too. The last fictional book I read was "Not wanted on the Voyage" by Timothy Findley. I am happily and amicably separated, and well on our way to an amicable divorce. We get along well, and we coparent our children effectively - this is something I am very proud of. I have fabulous children who live mostly with me. Two are at university, so essentially I have two left at home part time. What am I looking for? Someone with enough common interests to bond over, and with enough difference that we can learn from each other. Someone who values family, in all its diverse expressions. I would happily date someone who has children and is actively involved with their lives - I think the quality of a man can be seen in how he treats his children. In summary, someone who reads the above description and feels like we would be a great fit.
