I am a very even-keeled, down to earth person that really just wants to have as many new experiences as possible. I love traveling, sports and anything outdoors. In college I studied Environmental and Organismic Biology, which I loved but still don't know exactly what I want to do with my degree, and playing soccer on the varsity team helped me escape college debt free. My friends are really important and play a pretty big role in my life as well as my family, of course. I'm really just looking for any and every way to just enjoy being alive. Life is short and I intend to get as much out of it as possible! There is too much pressure on first dates so it helps to actually do something. For example go to a sporting event or take a fun class together or something. Anything that can distract away from the pressure but not too distracting that you can't talk and get to know each other.

First things first...I love White Spot burgers. This is important.I'm currently coming to the end of my graduate studies (studying yeast DNA - sexy!), and plan on pursuing a career in education at the undergraduate level when I'm done. Like most graduate students, I've worked as a TA since I started, but I'm being given the rare (and terrifying) opportunity to lecture my first course in the fall. I'm super excited about this since it's a great opportunity to get experience teaching in a university setting, but I'm also petrified that they'll realise I really know nothing!I like to stay fairly active, but wouldn’t describe myself as particularly outdoorsy. I’m into running, bootcamp, and aerobics classes ***’s style step classes are a new but exciting part of my life), but for some inexplicable reason I can’t stand hiking or yoga. I’m not a big sports fan, but having been born into a mega hockey-loving family, I’m used to being surrounded by them, so as long as I have a drink in my hand I’m content with watching the game. My biggest passion is food. I’m a huge nerd who wakes up every morning and reads all the local food and recipe blogs while munching on breakfast. I love checking out new restaurants and cuisines (and I’m that annoying person who shows up knowing exactly what I’m ordering, having examined the entire menu and read every single food blog and critic review on the restaurant prior to arriving), but love spending hours cooking in the kitchen just as much. One of my favorite ways to spend an evening is to throw a dinner party with friends. Good food, good wine, good friends – what’s better than that? And speaking of wine, I’m very much into that as well. Not a big beer drinker (I know, I know, I’m trying), but put me in a bar with some friends and a glass of pinot gris and I’m a very happy camper. At the moment it would be great to take advantage of the great weather and enjoy some drinks on a patio.
