If you're looking for a thoughtful guy who has a great sense of humor, that appreciates everyday irony, enjoys intelligent conversation, isn't afraid to be honest, is self-confident and yet has a sensitive side, read on... Ok, so about me... Usually reserved, quiet, usually a person of few words. Then once I get to know you, the guy with the sense of humor starts to come out. I might not be the one doing all the talking at a dinner party, but when I do, expect to be entertained! I'm a very independent person and like a bit of that in the person I'm with. I very much am attracted to self confidence and intelligence. I'm not in any rush to get involved with anyone just for the sake of dating, but I keep hoping my perfect match is out there someplace. I have the bar set pretty high on who that perfect match is, but I know that person is out there.I have a great career I really enjoy in information technology. I've designed computer systems for everything from small one doctor offices to Fortune ***companies so I have my serious and responsible side, but I try not to bring that home with me. I love being on or near the water too, sailing or a walk on the beach are my favorites. Very much into cars, I restore cars for fun and also do some racing on the weekends. Hopping in the car for a weekend road trip goes along with that. I can be just as at home relaxing or completely spur of the moment to go do something. Music's something that I very much enjoy. I love having something playing when I'm working around the house or in the car. I really like rock from the 80's, current rock and a mix of other things, but not a fan of country really. I don't watch a ton of TV (admitted DIY channel junkie though), but do enjoy a good movie. Preference is for the typical guy movies, but I appreciate all the good ones. I'm not a fitness nut, but manage to keep in decent shape. My ideal match would also be someone like minded. I love going for walks, swimming or just working in the yard. I love food and to cook so gotta do something to keep the pounds off!Now for the fine print... Looking for someone local only. (like ***minutes away or so at the most). Can't really get to know someone if you never see them! I don't do drama and you won't get any in return from me. Anyway, lots more to tell, but I'll save that for one on one conversation. Thanks for checking out my profile. If you would like to get to know me better, go ahead and send a message. (more than just "Hi" please) As long as there's a chance to talk and get to know someone. Public of course.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I'm a licensed therapist specializing in adult and child therapy. Much of my work is with military families.Making a difference in the community and being of service to families impacted by war is really fulfilling. I have lived and interesting and textured life. In the past, I have performed professionally as a magician, traveled extensively and saw a lot of the world - (no sequins, animals or large boxes involved - I carried my act in a shoulder bag). I am a formally trained chef (out of respect for Chefs everywhere, I use this term generically and with humility) and love all kinds of good food. So, I hear I'm in pretty good shape for a guy "my age."- distance running is over due to injury but still train regularly.Love all outdoor activities, music, theater, or relaxing at home - I don't always have to be on the move or "doing something" to be at ease or comfortable and appreciate someone who can relax and enjoy the sunset or a drive in the mountains as much as activity in large groups. At first, I may appear quiet and reserved but I see it as a form of economy.I don't have to be the center of attention but can become the life of the party without pushing or demanding it. I am fine with allowing others to take that role.I value trust and loyalty, am patient and giving, probably to a fault and support and encourage the dreams of others - but am not a fool. I mean, I will give anyone the coat off of my back, have done it many times in life and will again - but not if a loved one or I need it more. The nice stuff is fine, but the trailer and river were the best. So, I guess you could say I am adaptable and resilient.Chasing after the next shiny thing is not my style- the bright, shinny. sparkling thing in front of me can be enough.Sorry to see Peter Falk die, he was great. All Monty Python =My intellectual interests include, study of and "work" on the 4th Way, read Gurgjieff, Ouspensky, et. Waking up is a commitment and something of a ****, isn't it? .study of sociology, world history, comparative religions and science.I also love graphic arts and am admittedly a computer geek.Well, that's enough -Hope to hear from you or back from you if I have written. Meet somewhere and talk, walk, sit, be quiet, laugh, go into a store, pick up some food, walk to a park and prepare something to eat Ask the homeless to cook for us and give them something to eat for their work.Lock ourselves in a room and brainstorm on a "million dollar idea" and not leave until we have a solid concept.Pack a single bag, tell no one we are leaving, pick a random spot on the map, get on a Greyhound Bus and go.Go to cemetery and do EVP recordingsOr, just meet at mutually agreeable spot, talk for while and hope we see each other again.
