Its hard to judge authenticity and genuineness in a few words on a profile. Dating can be fun, and dating can be a chore, but I find it immensely more satisfying when I can be honest with you about who I am, you are honest with me about who you are, and we are honest with ourselves about how we feel and what we want. Deal? Good. One of the things I learned a long time ago about love is that it is a choice. So many people have been deceived into thinking that love is a feeling. Don't get me wrong, feelings will play a part in deciding who we enter into relationships with, but in the end it comes down to a choice. And it is within the act of making that choice that true love exists. In the morning, when you see your spouse sleeping there, mouth open, drool coming out, a new blemish setting there on their chin, we may not have fancy feelings of love. Or when they do something that is selfish or hurtful, we may not feel "in love", but when we make the choice to still serve them, to cultivate those "feelings" of ours into returning, to honor them and sacrifice for them, we choose to love them. It is in this area that most people have fallen short. They think feelings come before the choice (which does often happen in the early stages of relationships), but in truth, it is the choice which precedes the feelings that enable true commitment, and allows the true manifestation of love. I am an affectionate guy who enjoys conversation. I do my best to let the Lord lead me in all that I do. I am not a Christian who just shows up on Sunday mornings, puts in my time, then goes home and is done with the "god thing" for the week. ***, I want Christ to be a daily reality. I want to be a spiritual leader and a servant in my home. DEAL BREAKERS: We all have those things that are deal breakers to us when it comes to romantic relationships. While I'm happy to make all the friends I can, at the end of the day I still hope to find that person I get to love for the rest of my life. And here are the things that I simply won't accept when it comes to dating. -Smoking -Non-communicative (I like to refer to myself as "verbose with a strong need for an active communication connection") -Not wanting children (I have four, of which two are not mine legally yet I still care for them regularly. If you don't like children I am not your man. Fatherhood is one of my primary callings) -Hot and cold (If you aren't sure what you want, or you aren't sure who you are deep down, look elsewhere. I've had too much wishy-washiness in my life) Something where we can talk and connect

First off, I'm a single parent. I have my daughter full time and we are quite the team. I'm a classic introvert. One of my favorite quotes is, "Do you hate people? I don't hate them...I just feel better when they're not around." It's by Charles Bukowski from the movie Barfly. I do like my personal space very much. Things I like to do: - I enjoy reading, don't read as much as I'd like to but I do go in spurts. I read mostly sci-fi and crime novels or anything else that will take me to another place. Bonus points if you recognize the quote in my headline. I don't go in for the self help stuff and really could care less about the latest trends in health, nutrition, and fitness. I read for enjoyment mostly, not so much for improvement. I will read cookbooks cover to cover though.- I am a budding aquarist. I currently keep two aquariums and would always like to upgrade. The initial costs of setting up new tanks can be a little pricey which keeps my hobby under control.- The same can be said for my intrest in golf. If I had the time and money, I'd go all the time. My other sport of choice is bowling. I'm out of practice, but I still can have a good time with it. Sometimes I even like watching the cars turn to the right. - I'll listen to almost all music. I prefer the alternative styles that are prevalent on stations like 89.3. I also enjoy jazz and classical from time to time. I haven't purchased a new CD in a very long time nor do I have and mp3 player. I really just listen to the radio in my car or at work or when I am cleaning my apartment. - I honestly watch too much TV. I think i just like the noise and the hypnotic movement of the screen. I have many favorites that I wont list here, but it would be really nice to have something other than tonight's line-up to look forward too.- I also enjoy my indoor gardening. I'm developing a bit of a collection of African Violets and have an intrest in Bonsai. I really wish I could quantify just what it is that I'm looking for in a possible partner. I guess that is just it, a partner, a great friend. I don't have a list of traits or qualifications. I will just know it, hopefully, when it is right. Something casual, go out for a beer and chat.
